Blurb
Winston Young stumbles upon the Playground bookstore while looking for a birthday gift for a friend, and running into a lovely and unusual employee there makes it feel like fate. Mickey’s flamboyant dress and shy smile make him a delightful mix of elfish and vulnerable, and despite a bad relationship with a young man in the past, Winston thinks Mickey might be the boy he needs.
Mickey Jordan is used to living in a big warehouse with a bunch of artists and not very much privacy. When Winston takes him home, he knows he could get used to the kind of care Winston offers, but he’s determined to pay his own way.
Winston is still trying to find a middle ground for them when the dangerous side of Mickey’s bohemian lifestyle catches up with him. After a frantic search for Mickey and a few days in the hospital, Winston decides it’s time to make Mickey his, to be his Daddy and keep him safe, and he’s determined to make Mickey understand what Winston believes he needs. Can the free spirit and the older man find the balance they need to make a life together?

In Memoriam Anne Frazier Walradt
On October 23 we lost Founding Member Anne Frazier Walradt after a brief illness. Anne was our Grammar Goddess as well as a mentor and a friend. She was a bright light that could make anyone feel welcome and special and her wit, intelligence, and special spirit will truly be missed by the organization, her many friends, and family.
On a personal level, Anne was a touchstone who I knew I could go to for advice on anything from the troublesome bunions we both shared to suggestions about what to do about our organization. I knew that anything I shared with Anne would be kept in the strictest confidence but more importantly, I knew that she would be calm and steady in the face of any storm that might be chasing me to her door. There was a many a time that I sat with her to discuss a problem and waited anxiously for her advice which always began with a very patient and peaceful, “Well, Charity . . . “
At her memorial service the minister mentioned that Anne was like stardust, a distant star surrounded by a cloud of what appeared to be dust. I found another definition for stardust at the Free Dictionary: “Minute particles of matter that fall to Earth from the stars.”
Anne was far from minute to me with my challenged vertical stature, but it was about more than just height. It was about Anne’s regal bearing, her charm, and her passion for so many things, from grammar to writing to her church to genealogy and so much more. When thinking of Anne and stardust, it is probably more accurate to say that Anne was a supernova who came to Earth to share her brilliance with us.
Anne will be truly missed. May God bless her and open his arms to her very special spirit.

Barbara Nolan’s new release from Soul Mate Publishing, Beyond Paradise, will be available December 12. For more information, please visit barbaranolanauthor.com. Here is the blurb for Beyond Paradise:
Jonny Vallone, the dark, brooding owner of Manhattan nightclub, Beyond Paradise, doesn’t need any more complications in his life, or women. Then savvy con artist Cheryl Benson, barges into his office and spits out a confession that would make most men run for cover.
Cheryl’s fast-paced, out-of-control life is closing in, and her only hope against a ruthless crime boss is bad boy Jonny and his powerful connections. Her knight in black Brioni has a body made for sin with enough baggage to fill a 747, but when a near-fatal attack throws the two together, they implode in a night of steamy, sheet-gripping passion.
Jonny can’t resist the beautiful blonde with the pleading green eyes plus he has his own agenda with the underworld thug who owns a piece of his soul.
